The Indian government launches the third edition of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign to celebrate our national flag and mark India’s independence from Britishers ahead of Independence Day from 9th August 2024 to 15 August 2024.

The 78th Independence Day is just a few days away, the entire nation will celebrate the day with great enthusiasm hoisting the National flag and arranging cultural programs. Over the past years, the Modi government added another way of celebrating 15 August 2024, Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan.
Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan was started under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in 2022 to encourage people to hoist the National Flag and boost the feeling of patriotism among the people. Keeping the tradition, this year, the government has announced the campaign from 9 August 2024 to 15 August 2024.
The Indian Citizens can take part in this campaign and obtain a Har Ghar Tiranga Certificate, all they have to do is take the pledge and click & upload their image hoisting the National Flag on the official website of Har Ghar Tiranga.
PM Narendra Modi urges people to take their selfies or images hoisting the flag, change their profile picture to the Indian flag, participate in the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign, and make it successful like all the previous years.

How to download the Har Ghar Tiranga Certificate 2024?
People of India who wish to participate in the Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan 2024 can download their certificate by following the below steps:
- First, visit the official website of the Har Ghar Tiranga Certificate mentioned above.
- Next, click the Take Pledge option on the home page.
- You will be directed to a new page, click Next to participate in the Har Ghar Tiranga 2024 Abhiyan.
- Next, enter your name and mobile number, select your country, and Take Pledge & click the Take Pledge option.
- Next, upload your image hoisting the National Flag or selfies with the tricolor on the website.
- Next, the portal will ask your permission to use the picture on the campaign site and click Submit.
- After you upload the image, you should click Generate Certificate to have the Har Ghar Tiranga Certificate ensuring your participation in the 2024 campaign.
Har Ghar Tiranga 2024 Activities
Under the Har Ghar Tiranga 3.0 Abhiyan that began on 09 August 2024, the people of India can buy the National Flag from regional shops or through Post Offices. The government of India has planned the following Har Ghar Tiranga Activities to celebrate the 78th Independence Day:
- Many states and constituencies will organize the Tiranga Yatras from 11 August 2024 to 13 August 2024 ahead of Independence Day.
- On 14 August 2024, all the districts will observe the Partition Remembrance Day with the silent march,
- Educational institutions and private or public organizations can hoist the National flag, people can hoist the tricolor at their homes on 13, 14, or 15 August and celebrate Independence Day with their colleagues, friends, and family.
Things to keep in mind while displaying the National Flag
When you hoist or bring a National Flag home, there are certain things that you should keep in mind to honor the flag appropriately without breaking any Flag Code. The Flag Code is instructions, laws, practices, and conventions for displaying the National Flag of India.
Hence, when you participate in the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2024, you must follow the following rules that are associated with displaying the Tricolour:
- Where you display the National Flag, it should never be in an inverted manner nor should be damaged.
- No other flag should be placed above or side by side with the National Flag and there should be no garland or any object should be placed on or above the flag mast from where it is flown.
- The National Flag should not touch the ground/floor/trail in the water.
- Never the National Flag should be used as the cover desk or decoration material.
- The National Flag should not be used in a part of the costume /uniform or accessories below the waist, nor should you print the National Flag on Napkins, cushions, or any dress material.
- The National Flag should not be displayed in such a manner that it can get damaged.
- The National Flag should never be flown at half-mast until certain occasions instructed by the Government of India.
The Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign is a good initiative by the government of India to connect people more to their National Flag and make them aware of the National Flag. So, if you wish to participate in the 78th Azadi ka Mahotsav, bring the National Flag home, hoist, and conduct the flag under the flag code to honor the freedom fighter who fought & sacrificed for Independent India.
