The Telangana farmers first got the Crop Loan Waiver scheme in 2018, to reduce their financial stress. The Telangana government is now back with the Crop Loan Waiver scheme to lessen the burden of loans from the farmers.

The newly formed Telangana government has taken another step to complete its six guarantee promises made during the assembly elections. On 18 July 2024, CM A Revanth Reddy announced the implementation of the Crop Loan Waiver scheme and estimated that around 11.5 farmers would benefit from this scheme.

Under the scheme, the eligible farmer’s families are entitled to crop loan waivers up to ₹2 lakh. The government will also cover the outstanding principal and applicable interest as of 9 December 2023 for eligible farmers.

  • First, go to the official website of the Crop Loan Waiver scheme at
  • Next, enter your username and password for the CLW and log into the CLW portal.
  • Next, look for a district-wise loan waiver list on the dashboard or beneficiary list.
  • Now, look for your name, district, and account number on the list through the CTRL+F command.
  • The beneficiaries of the scheme cna check all other details on their Crop Loan waiver scheme on the portal.

Who will get the benefit of the TS Crop Loan Waiver Scheme 2024?

According to the announcement, the farmers who meet the following eligibility requirements are eligible for a waiver on their crop or farming loan:

  • You must be a native and permanent resident of Telangana state.
  • You must have taken short-term crop loans from regional rural banks, scheduled commercial banks, and district cooperative central banks, located in the Telangana State.
  • Your loan should be sanctioned between 12 December 2018 and 12 December 2023.

The Food Security Card maintained by the Civil Supplies Department will determine the families of farmers eligible for the scheme. The database of the Civil Supplies Department determines the farmer families, which gave farmer, spouse, and children.

When will the Telangana government waive the crop loan?

According to the announcement made by the government, the government will grant crop loan waivers up to ₹ 2 lakh. The government Commissioner and Director of Agriculture (DOA) is assigned to implement the 2024 scheme and the National Informatics Center (NIC) will partner with DOA for the implementation of the scheme.

The government has confirmed the crop loan waiver amount to be deposited in the loan account of the beneficiaries by 15 August 2024. The government will waive the loans on the following dates based on the loan:

  • Loans below ₹1 lakh on 18 July 2024,
  • loans between ₹`1 and ₹1.5 lakh by the end of July 2024
  • Loans above ₹ 1.5 lakh up to ₹ 2 lakh on 15 August 2024

The government released the first phase of the crop loan waiver of ₹6,800 crore to eligible farmers with loans below ₹1 lakh on 18 July 2024. The DOA and NIC have directed that an exclusive portal will be released soon with the eligibility, and other details for the effective implementation of the Crop Loan Waiver Scheme.

How to apply for the Telangana Crop Loan Waiver Scheme 2024?

The farmers can apply for the crop loan waiver scheme if they haven’t applied for it on the official website. The farmers must update their data on the portal to receive the CLW benefit.

The farmers can follow the below steps to update or apply for the CLW scheme:

  • First, go to the official CLW portal at
  • Next, enter your login credentials on the homepage, such as your Username and password.
  • Next, go to the CLW dashboard, access the application form, and fill the form carefully with valid details.
  • Next, upload all the required documents, such as Aadhar card, loan details, PAN card, etc.
  • Next, submit the details and update the necessary information to complete your CLW application.

According to government guidelines, the banks are responsible for submitting the eligible farmer’s data and crop loan account details for the scheme implementation. The farmers are responsible for submitting accurate information under the scheme.
